If you are like most people, you know there are a million and one ways to take care of your skin, from all-natural cleaners to the infamous Vampire facial. Clean Skin is the Best Skin – The beginning of every great skin routine starts with a great cleanser. We recommend choosing a mild or all natural cleanser. Many cleaners contain harsh chemicals that can dry your skin, especially if it is your every day cleanser.

Best for oily skin: Cetaphil PRO DermaControl Foam Wash

Best for dry skin: CeraVe Hydrating Cleaser

Best for combination skin: CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser

Set The Tone – The next step and often missed is using toner. Toner is important because it acts as a backup to your cleanser. It takes care of any leftover dirt and ensures a fish, clean face in the morning and night.

Best for oily skin: Fenty Skin Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum

Best for dry skin: Pixi Glow Tonic

Best for combination skin: Thayers Rose Petal Facial Toner

Moisturize Moisturize Moisturize! – While it should be a no-brainer, I would be crazy not to say it. Keeping your skin is crucial for maintaining its youthfulness and regulating your skin from dryness and oiliness. We recommend using a moisturizer with SPF 20 or higher to protect your skin from harmful sun rays.

Best for oily skin: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

Best for dry skin: NIVEA Soft Moisturizing Creme

Best for combination skin: CeraVe Face Moisturizer With SPF 30

Focus on problem areas – do you have a pimple? blackheads? discoloration? This is where you take time to work on what is bothering you most. For your morning routine, use a hyaluronic acid serum to help protect and hydrate your skin and at night, retinol or vitamin C serum works great. To target acne, apply a benzoyl peroxide cream and salicylic acid for blackheads (at night, of course).

Best for acne: Effaclar Duo Dual Acne Treatment with Benzoyl Peroxide

Best for blackheads: Beta Hydroxy Acid Blemish + Blackhead Serum

Best for hyperpigmentation: Vichy LiftActiv Vitamin C Serum

Best for anti-aging: L’Oreal Paris Retinol Serum

Monthly Maintenance

Exfoliate Those Pores – Exfoliation helps scrub dead skin cells away, keeping your pores unclogged and your skin flake-free. Not all exfoliators are built the same and it is important to note that they are not for daily use. One or twice a month is just enough.

MILD Chemical Peels – A chemical peel is when a chemical solution is applied to improve the appearance of the skin. It is useful when you want to start fresh with your skin and aids with any hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, and wrinkles. Here is the important part: mild chemical peels are okay to use once a month. With stronger peels, be sure to space it out every four to six weeks until you achieve the results you want.

Make Time For A Facial – A monthly facial does more than help you relax. They are designed to take care of your skin at a deeper level. They help revive aging and dull skin with a mixture of nutrients and antioxidants that penetrate deep into your pores. If you are not able to make it into a spa every month there is an array of at-home facials for your own personal spa day.

Include Facial Steaming – Facial steaming has become increasingly popular over the years, although we all have done it more than we think. A nice, steamy shower helps you open your pores and wash excess dirt away for a deep clean. Using a facial steamer gives you the option to bring the spa to you and concentrate on any problem areas like blackheads and acne.

Get The Drip – Taking care of your skin from the inside out is one of the best ways to get the results you want. IV drips provide the extra nutrients your body needs to cleanse your system and replace it with the vitamins and antioxidants you need. We offer a variety of IV drips including Eyden Beauty, included with biotin and glutathione, both excellent for glowing skin.

As you see, there are many ways to achieve clear, beautiful skin, but it does not take much at all. Cleansing and moisturizing your skin and then targeting your skin issues are the basics and it is always important to incorporate a monthly skin maintenance routine. Ideally, you want to use your skincare routine for at least a month to see if it works for you. If you are seeing results, stick with it and stay consistent. If not, start from square one and keep trying until you find what works for your skin. To schedule a consultation for skin treatments, click here.
